FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does couples therapy take?
There is no set length for couples therapy. Most of our clients see significant improvement in their relationships by six to eight sessions.
How long are couples therapy sessions?
Sessions usually last for 50 minutes. However, couples with scheduling difficulties, who travel long distances, or who are in an acute state of distress can schedule longer sessions, as available.
What is the goal of couples therapy?
To decrease conflict and discord. To build a relationship that feels safe, secure, and loving.
Do you offer support for both of us during our treatment?
Of course! We don't blame one side or the other for what is happening. No one has to be the bad guy. Our relationship experts will work with both of you -- and help identify your blind spots -- so that you can break the negative patterns of behavior that you are stuck in.
How can you help?
We specialize in treating couples that are considering divorce or cannot seem to stop fighting. We can work to help you interrupt your negative cycles of anger and hurt -- and survive again. Once we've helped you regain a sense of safety in the relationship, we can work to help you rediscover closeness, intimacy, and connection.
